Voices in harmony is a story covering the MSHAA choir competitions. I have been involved in choir for about 4-5 years but quit to join journalism. Choir will always be apart of my life. While writing this story I learned about how much effort each student put in to even audition to go to MSHAA. Because of this in my writing I tried to convey the effort students give to compete, I believe I was able to achieve this. My intro paragraph is what I and proudest of, I tried to make my writing as good as I can make it. The Wingspan benefitted from this story by being able to include a performing arts story in the summer edition, broadening the view of the magazine.

Scripted Spontaneity is a story covering the Advanced Acting class performing a Reader's Theater script. I wrote this story with a co-author, Aubrey Peterson. I tried to convey how Reader's Theater is a very unique type of performance, which I effectively conveyed. During this, I learned how much of a say students have in their performance. I was most proud of the photo that was taken for the story, I think it is very dynamic. The Wingspan benefited from this story by adding the theater program in to the magazine.
People of the Year was a story where we sent out a vote to all students attending Nixa High School, who got to vote for a person in each category. This story was also written with a co-author, Emily Jenkins. Together, we were able to tackle six interviews and six photos. During this story, I learned how different a student's school experience can be compared to that one another student. We conveyed why each person won their respective categories and how each person contributes their time to different activities. This story contributed to the summer Wingspan edition by getting to highlight some of the seniors who are leaving
